To place animals within the jurisdiction of international and European law seems to elevate them to a superior status corresponding to that of the external sources of the law. It is therefore necessary to check whether they manage to overcome the traditions and archaisms according to which only domestic animals deserve a system of protection easily forgotten when they are considered as mass products.
