Mireille IMBERT-QUARETTA - The daily life of the judges
Pouvoirs n°74 - Les juges - septembre 1995 - p.85-94
In the last ten years, judges have been confronted with an increasing
demand for judicial intervention. The expectations of the public can be
seen in a major increase in the number of cases and in the extension of
the judges’ missions. Increasingly in demand and increasingly alone, the
judge has to assumed more and more complex social functions while
projecting contradictory images to the public. Confronted with such a
situation, judges tend to question the meaning of their mission.
