Henri OBERDORFF - The effects of the European Union on French institutions
Pouvoirs n°69 - Europe, de la Communauté à l’Union - avril 1994 - p.95-106
First the European Community, then the European Union have had a
major influence on our political, administrative and judicial institutions.
This can be explained by the requirements of the twelve-member government
and administration of the Community and the Union. Thus the principle
of sovereignty is being adjusted through the constitutionalisation of
our membership of the European Union. While France’s European policy
is still carried out mostly by the Executive, we are witnessing the adaptation
of our administration and judges to the Community rules.
