The law on electoral campaign funding has noticeably increased the constitutional or administrative litigation cases presented to the electoral judge. The Conseil constitutionnel and Conseil d’État have thus been able to clarify a certain number of points left obscure in the law, such as the rules governing fundraising, expense limits or control mechanisms. The convergence of their decisions indicates their common willingness to guarantee an effective implementation of the law while at the same time stressing some of its shortcomings. Résumé
