« Gaullism » and « Chiraquisme », some thoughts on an impure inheritance

The scope and frequency of modification of theory that the RPR has been undertaking over the last three years, lead the political observer to wonder of « Chiraquisme » still owes anything to Gaullism. The RPR seems to be undergoing a remarkable ideological shift which is leading it towards neo-liberalism the new dogmas : diminution of the role of the state, re-affirmation of transatlantic allegiances, new directions which move the party away from its Gaullist and bring it into line with the principal Western parties espousing liberalism.
