The great success of Spain is to be found in its ability to get rid of
the many constraints that burdened the lives of the Spanish people.
It has followed a process of “privatization” much more radical than
its neighbours. Although it has not reached the level of scientifi c and
technical creation of its European partners, Spain is so self-confi dent
and believes so much in Europe that it could give it the political value
and effi ciency it seems to have lost.
